What People Are Saying About Us
Awesome coaches and a very welcoming atmosphere. This club has a great women's and mixed group and supports students who want to compete or train for recreational activities. Highly recommended.
Great coaches who have created a culture which makes training and being at the gym so much fun. The training partners are excellent and has modern mats and gym equipment. Topped off by heaps of classes morning, noon and night.
Highly recommend this gym for every aspect of why you'd choose a gym.

Only gave 5 starts because Facebook wouldn't allow more.
It is a really fun gym that will still push you technically. Loving the Judo and BJJ classes, particularly how the instructors work together to make the lessons complimentary.
I still remember the feeling when I walked into this gym for the first time, almost four years ago. I was slightly frightened and nervous, but also super excited to try something new and start their boxing program. The nervousness faded almost immediately when I spoke to the head coach and owner Ben, whose calm and friendly manner was apparent from the beginning. Throughout the first class, the impression of people being super friendly and helpful deepened. Of course I had problems with coordination and felt unable; however, the way in which newbies are treated is incredibly helpful for gaining confidence. There are literally NO egos on the mats; everyone will take care of each other and help each other as much as they can! The CMD boxing and kickboxing program has a big focus on self defense and made me lose weight, feel safe when I walk home at night and has highly increased my fitness level.
The facilities that the gym has moved to some years ago are great. Everything is clean and tidy, there is a big conditiong space and lots of mat space, which enables classes to be run at the same time without people clashing. The change rooms are a good size and there are lockers available. Bathrooms are hygienic, and the women's change room has a box that is well-stocked with essentials like hairbands and deodorant. The gym is located conveniently close to the city, including cafés and the central bus stops.
Just like the CMD program, the jiu jitsu classes are highly effective for self defence and a feeling of security and fitness. Due to the high amount of body contact it seems daunting at first, but again everyone will help make you feel welcome and ease you into it. The coaches are black and brown belts who are all excellent at breaking down movement sequences so that everyone can understand and apply them, and especially the women's classes proved useful for me. Elements has an extraordinary amount of female grapplers, and the boxing classes have numerous women as well. There are more than 20 BJJ classes a week, and they are conveniently spread throughout the whole day. The martial arts membership enables you to do CMD and BJJ, but also judo and wrestling are offered at Elements.
However, what is probably most important is the community that you will train with. I had to return to Germany soon after I started, and coming back two years later, it felt as if I had never left. The peeps at Elements are like one big crazy, funny, incredibly nice family and you will very soon feel part of it if you start training there.
(And they all lived happily ever after...)
I dropped in on a whim during a visit to Canberra to share in a training session with the Elements crew in Canberra this afternoon. Thanks so much to the coaches Ben and Eugene for making me feel welcome. I enjoyed Eugene's way of teaching different sequences from a singe position, and I had some really fun and technical rolls to get my training fix away from home 🙂 Will definitely bookmark it as my go-to spot for training in Canberra!
