The new mats have (finally) arrived and been installed bringing our martial arts mat space to just over 200 square meters. We now have more than enough space to accommodate all of grappling, punching and kicking needs. Big thanks to Corbin and Brendan for all their work getting them fitted and framed.
We are also officially launching our new Muay Thai program. This will replace Crazy Monkey Defense as the striking program at Elements. We are always striving to further develop our skills and ourselves as martial artists and Muay Thai was the natural choice to build upon the excellent foundation that CMD laid. Along with the new mats and the Muay Thai program come some timetable changes:
The Monday and Wednesday evening BJJ Drilling classes are now one hour long and will run from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. The first thirty minutes will continue to be a series of intense drills designed to develop jiu jitsu specific speed, fitness and movement followed by thirty minutes of specific sparring based around that day’s drills.
The Monday and Wednesday evening Women’s BJJ class now run 6.30pm to 8pm. The Wednesday night class will now also be a no gi training session.
The weekday Muay Thai classes will run 6.30pm to 7.30pm Monday through Thursday and at 9.30am on Saturday.
You should also keep your eyes peeled for additional freestyle wrestling classes being added to the timetable later in the year.
We also have a number of events coming up including a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar with ADCC champion JT Torres on Tuesday July 31, a Judo grading on Saturday August 5 and a BJJ grading Saturday September 1.
